The Summer 2017 issue of the ABA's Dialogue, an online publication, includes an article on Hawaii's Appellate Pro Bono Program co-authored by this blogger.
The article, entitled, "Increasing Support for Appellate Litigants: The Hawaii Appellate Pro Bono Program, is available here.
The Program is a partnership between the Hawaii State Bar Association's Appellate Section and Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii, and matches low to moderate income pro se appellate litigants with attorneys willing to provide pro bono appeal representation.
As we posted here, the Hawaii program was made permanent by order of the Supreme Court in April 2017. The program continues to accept cases and volunteer attorneys. Anyone willing to volunteer can contact this blogger or Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii.
